Sunday, July 12, 2026 · a two-man bramble for twenty-four teams — one club each, official wiffle balls only, and a Calcutta at the turn.
Presented by King Louie’s Meat Apostles

Every rack, every wing, every glaze across Invitational day is dressed in the award-winning blends of King Louie’s Meat Apostles — family-owned and made right here in Huntsville, Missouri, our neighbours on the map. The number-one spicy rub in the country brings the smoke to our signature day.

Claim your spot →The Invitational is contested in a single day, and admits a limited number of patrons to walk it. A grounds pass takes in the lake loop, the half-way house, and a standing place at the fourteenth for the afternoon wave. Children fourteen and under are received as our guests.
See ticketsFor those who prefer their barbecue seated, the Invitational keeps a small number of hospitality places — shaded lakeside tables at The Dam, the Smokehouse experience presented by King Louie’s Meat Apostles, and a reserved perch above the eighteenth green. Numbers are kept, gracefully, short.

Thirty-six holes in a single day, played as a two-man bramble — nine holes of best ball and nine holes of scramble, the prairie’s favorite mix of teamwork and nerve. Find your partner, find your club, and find your way around the lake.
A Calcutta auction is held after the first eighteen, over a barbecue lunch — your chance to back a team (or buy back your own) before the back half decides everything.
The two rules that matter: only one club may be used per person, and only official Walmart wiffle balls are permitted — each ball clearly marked.

Check in, mark your wiffle balls, and warm up the one club you’re allowed.
All teams away together for the first eighteen — nine best ball, nine scramble.
Barbecue lunch after the first eighteen, followed by the Calcutta auction.
Thirty-six in a day — the second round, where flights are won and lost.
The awards ceremony and a second meal, with keg beer and the signature Prairie Fire cocktail.
Prize pool based on a full field. Two flights, each paid three deep.

709 Hornet Lane, Huntsville. The drive is gravel; take it slowly. Gates open at nine.
Set a folding chair where you like and leave it — it will be honoured, by custom rather than enforcement.
Telephones silenced, and never raised at the fourteenth tee, where The Dam asks for a silence we are unwilling to sell.
The Hornet, the Hot Apple Pie Ribs, and the Prairie Fire are served throughout. Bring an appetite.
The field is capped at twenty-four teams. Submit your team below to claim a spot — pay the $160 team fee securely through Square and your spot is locked the moment payment clears.
Thanks for entering the Strawgrass Invitational. We’ll confirm your team and the $160 entry personally, and send the day’s details as July 12 approaches. Start marking your wiffle balls.
