A Goff & Goff championship layout shaped by the wind, the water, and the lay of the prairie — eighteen holes, par 63, honest from the first tee.
Strawgrass plays the way prairie golf should: precise, exposed, and rarely the same hole twice. The greens are bold and the fairways are firm, and the lake threads through the round like a recurring dare — forced carries, a green built on the dam, water that gives no second chances. The trouble here is the wind, the water, and your own ambition.
It is a par 63 that asks more questions than its length lets on. From the Gold tees it tests the best of them; from the Prairie tees it’s a joy for every level. And it walks, start to finish, in well under two hours.
Live conditions over Strawgrass, updated through the day. Check before you head out — the prairie writes its own forecast.
The course is the work of Goff & Goff Designs, the world-renowned firm behind some of the most admired courses in the modern game. Drawn to the prairie’s open canvas, they routed Strawgrass to reward the thinking golfer — minimal earth moved, every hole shaped to the land that was already here.
Their brief from us was a single sentence: build something that looks like it was always here. They delivered a championship test that walks like a country ramble and plays like the old links — firm, fast, and endlessly replayable.
Tee times & greens feesThe first of Mulberry Alley — three short holes along the mulberry-lined fence. A blind tee shot over waving prairie grass hides one of the meanest greens on the property. Pick a line and commit.
The hole everyone photographs. You tee from the lake’s edge to a small green perched on the dam, water in play from first swing to last putt. Pure precision.
A perfect risk-reward finish. Cut the corner with an aggressive tee shot, get home in two, and walk off with a shot at eagle — or a story.
A full grass range, a short-game area built to mirror the course’s greens, and a putting green by the first tee. Caddies and forecaddies are available by request — the best way to learn the angles on your first loop.
Push carts and a limited number of riding carts are available; we’ll always steer you toward walking when the legs allow.
A soft-spike-only facility. To protect our greens and surfaces, metal spikes are not permitted anywhere at Strawgrass. Soft spikes and spikeless golf shoes only, please.
Our golf packages pair a room with daily play, breakfast, and a few extras worth having. Tell us how many days and how many in your group, and we’ll build the right one.
